Our history begins several years ago when I saw a Newfoundland and I got passionate. We lived in São Paulo and wasn’t possible to have a “water buffalo” in an apartment building. In 2000 we moved to Itu, SP in a fenced condominium and there I achieved to convince my husband to buy a Bernese - another passion. However our beloved Cindy Crawford came with dysplasia. Today she remains living with us, but spayed.
As we wanted Newfoundlands, and afraid of making another mistake about buying without knowledge, we start to research: The Internet for this purpose is fantastic and many unslept nights after, too much reading beyond and excellent relationship (virtual) with some breeders of different parts in the whole world made us to know the race sufficiently. As much that we did not find, at that time, any respectable breeder in Brazil that had available litter and accomplished all the health controls that we thought necessary.
So, we choose for bringing a puppy from overseas and again too many search and recommendations of Germany, Canada, Finland, USA, Argentina; our Canadian friend Ellen (TipTop Newfs) indicated us an Italian breeder who would have a litter soon from one of her studs. Our dream came true: We knew our good friend (and mentor) Beatrice of Italian kennel Vertigo who brought us ours 1st Newfoundland: Tina Turner.
Since newfs are great animals in size, we search for a professional trainer. And, due his persistence we put Tina in its first show ring. For our complete surprise, Tina won all the rings. So, we started to attend "dog shows". There we knew our friend and handler Daniel Breim, and thus we start the breeding and the professional rings.
Our goal is not to be a great kennel. We want to be a small selected kennel with, at maximum, one litter a year. Our concern is the quality and the bloodlines. Our kennel works in our home, where the Newfs living among us day-and-night. The place is quite large, ventilated and we always walk to the lakes in the nearby in order to swim.
